As the days get colder and the season of gathering gets closer, we’re bringing a little Irish-inspired comfort to Dartmouth with an incredible new fall feature menu at The Commons on Portland.

Our talented chef, Zach, has put together a lineup of Guinness-inspired creations that celebrate rich flavours, comforting classics, and a little indulgence. From the first bite to the last, these house-made features are worth making plans for!

Guinness Cheese Dip & Salty Pretzel | $10.95

Let’s start with something made for sharing. Our warm, soft pretzel is served alongside a house-made Guinness cheese dip featuring aged white cheddar and a hint of Dijon mustard. Rich, savoury, and perfect for dipping, it’s an ideal way to kick off an evening with friends or settle in for a cozy night out.

Guinness-Braised Lamb Shank | $34.95

This is comfort food at its finest. Our incredible lamb shank is slow-braised in Guinness stout and demi-glace until it’s fall-off-the-bone tender, then served over creamy mashed potatoes with buttery green peas. Finished with rich Guinness gravy and a touch of horseradish cream, every element comes together for a seriously satisfying fall meal.

Guinness Chocolate Tart | $7.95

And, of course, no great meal is complete without dessert. Our Guinness chocolate tart features a buttery pastry shell filled with dark chocolate and Guinness, baked until soft and fudgy. It’s rich, decadent, and the perfect sweet ending to your meal.

These tasty little gems are made in-house by our kitchen team, and they tend to go quickly. If one catches your eye, don’t wait too long to give it a try!

Guinness on Tap? Now That’s Something to Raise a Glass To!

We’ve recently added Guinness on tap at The Commons, and our guests are loving it!

There’s something timeless about a proper pint of Guinness. With its iconic dark colour, creamy head, and distinctive roasted flavour, it’s a beer made for slowing down, catching up, and enjoying good company. As the weather cools, we can’t think of a better excuse to gather your favourite people, pull up a chair, and enjoy a pint together.

Pair it with our Guinness cheese dip, settle in for that lamb shank, and make an evening of it. We’ll raise a glass to that!
