A Dream Taking Shape
Sometimes, the right opportunity presents itself at the perfect moment—even if the timing isn’t easy. When we first stepped into what would soon become The Commons, we saw the potential instantly. The great neighbourhood, the warm woodwork, the inviting layout—it all pointed to a space that was waiting to be brought back to life. Coming so soon after opening our Millstone Public House Lantz location, we knew this would be a challenge, but we also knew we simply couldn’t pass it up. Building pubs and inviting in a community is what we love to do so we took the plunge.
We wanted The Commons to be something new, something completely unique to Dartmouth. It wasn’t just about opening another restaurant —it was about creating a space that feels like home. A place where great food, cold beer, bottles of wine and good company come together effortlessly. But first, the space needed a little love.
We rolled up our sleeves and got to work. New lights, fresh tile flooring, plush new carpet in the dining room, all-new kitchen equipment—every detail carefully chosen to elevate the space and bring out its best features. The transformation has been incredible, and we can’t wait to share it with you.
Dare to dream, they say. And we did. The Commons is more than just a pub; it’s a gathering place for friends, family, and neighbours. It’s where great meals turn into great memories, and where every visit feels like coming home.
