It’s hard to believe that The Commons on Portland has already been part of this incredible community for a full year. What started as an idea — a welcoming neighbourhood pub with elevated comfort food — has quickly become a place where friends gather, families celebrate, and regulars feel right at home.
To celebrate our one year anniversary, our chef has created a trio of limited-time features that perfectly capture what we love most: bold flavours, comforting dishes, and a little bit of indulgence.
If you’re planning a night out in Dartmouth or looking for a great local restaurant feature menu, this is the one you’ll want to try.
Crispy Mozzarella Ravioli – $13.95
The shareable that turns into a personal appetizer.
Golden fried mozzarella ravioli served over bright tomato sauce, finished with basil pesto and shaved Grana Padano.
Crisp outside.
Stretchy, cheesy centre.
Salty, herby, and completely addictive.
This appetizer has quickly become one of those dishes where people say, “We should share…” — and then quietly keep reaching for another.
If you’re looking for the best appetizers in Dartmouth, this one is worth ordering the moment you sit down.

Brie & Pecan Chicken Roulade – $25.95
This dish has strong “order it before it’s gone” energy.
Our chef starts with tender chicken breast, hand-rolled around creamy brie and toasted pecans, then finishes it with our house bacon jam (yes, bacon jam).
It’s served over parmesan mushroom risotto that’s rich, savoury, and comforting without being heavy.
Every bite hits a little differently:
creamy, nutty, smoky, and deeply satisfying.
It’s the kind of feature that regulars will remember months from now and say:
“Do you remember that chicken roulade?”
Bananas Foster Crepes – $11.95
And finally — you absolutely need to save room for dessert.
Warm crepes filled with brown sugar caramelized bananas, finished with spiced rum butter melting into vanilla ice cream.
We add sesame brittle for crunch and finish the whole thing with a generous drizzle of caramel.
It’s dramatic.
It’s indulgent.
And it’s easily one of the most memorable desserts we’ve served this year.
