Summer Has Arrived at The Commons on Portland

Longer days. Patio weather. Cold drinks with friends. Summer has a way of making us crave food that’s fun, familiar, and worth gathering around.

That’s exactly what inspired our June Feature Menu.

This month we’re bringing together a trio of dishes that feel tailor-made for summer: crispy, shareable starters, smoky barbecue comfort food, and a dessert that might just transport you back to your favourite childhood fairground memory.

The Appetizer Everyone Will Be Talking About  – Philly Cheesesteak Egg Rolls

Some ideas sound good on paper.

This one tastes even better.

Crispy golden egg rolls stuffed with shaved steak, sautéed onions, and peppers, served alongside warm cheddar cheese sauce for dipping.

Summer Starts with Ribs  –  BBQ Mango Chipotle Ribs

If there was ever a season for ribs, it’s summer.

Our June feature showcases a full rack of tender smoked pork ribs glazed in a sweet and smoky mango chipotle barbecue sauce.

Served with hot honey cornbread, creamy coleslaw, and a loaded baked potato finished with sour cream and green onions, it’s the kind of meal that practically demands a cold drink and a seat on the patio.

Messy? Maybe.

Worth it? Absolutely.

The Dessert You Didn’t Know You Needed  –   Funnel Cake Fries

This is where things get really fun.

At first bite, you’ll know you’ve tasted these flavours before. You just might not immediately remember where.

Then it hits you.

Our Funnel Cake Fries are crispy, sweet, and dusted with nostalgia, served with house-made caramel and chocolate dipping sauces that take them completely over the top.
